Bike Polo!!

Come out and join us on Tuesdays in Glenwood and Thursdays in Carbondale for some bike polo action, just bring your helmet and bike (singlespeeds preferred, and hook up your back brake on the left side of the handlebars for easier play, or just ride it fixed!!)

18 Road laps are always suuuuuuper fun, saw this incredibly large bike on the way out to 18 road last Monday, flowers do grow in the desert, see!

18 Hours of Fruita - check!

Well I entered into my first ever solo race and came out victorious!! Although the Fishman was not present, there was a good field of competitors. After adding a bit of new singletrack to the course I think they said the laps were now 6.5 miles or so per lap. According to my bike computer I rode 177 miles and had 16 hours and 42 minutes of saddle time, so it was a big 'ol ride!! The Stomparillaz were in full force and representing many bike forms as well as riding with me on a couple of four am laps!! Which was super cool. All in all it was a great weekend of riding bikes!!

thats me in the pink jersey!

Switched to the blue jersey in the morning when the sun finally came up.

White Rim in a Day!!

Well we had our best weather for our annual White Rim in a Day trip yet. Temps were in the mid 70's and dreamy skies, virtually no wind, until the last 25 or so, actually had an incredible tailwind for the last 8 or so. The group of Jamon, Dave, Will, Dan and myself all got up around 4 am for the 5 am start and we were off, up the Mineral Bottom climb 1st across Mineral Bottom Rd then down Schaeffer Trail and back around. Both Will and Jamon were "virgins" to the White Rim and they had quite an incredible day of weather, friends, and wheelies. This is sure to be an annual trip or even bi-annual as Will and I were joking about doing two laps of it maybe in the fall when we are in a bit better shape, 100 miles of fine desert riding ( or 200 if you're up to the challenge!!) Now get out there and ride your bike, or at least some wheelies!! niRAD
